Humane Education Network Privacy Policy

General Policy

  1. The Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute do not share personal information provided explicitly through this website, or gathered implicitly via web server log files, with any other entity for any purpose whatsoever, with the limited exception stated below for announcing the winners of the annual essay contest.
  2. The Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute do not send any unsolicited e-mail to anyone for any purpose whatsoever.
  3. The Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute sends newsletters either by USPS or by sending an e-mail with a link to the newsletter on the web site only to members who have explicitly joined H.E.N. and A.W.I. for the purpose of receiving the newsletter.

A Voice for Animals Contest Entrants

  1. Personal information collected on the entry form is used by the Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute to properly classify the entry and, in the event the entry is awarded a prize, to contact the winner.
  2. Students must explicitly acknowledge having read this privacy policy in order to submit their contest entry.
  3. Students must explicilty acknowledge that the Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute may publish winning essays. Publication may occur solely on this web site or in the Animal Welfare Institute's Quarterly magazine.
  4. The contest rules require that students not include any personal information in the essay files they submit beyond their name.
  5. The Humane Education Network and the Animal Welfare Institute will announce winners and post winning essays on this web site on the contest page.
  6. Winners will be identified on this web site by name, age and school affiliation only.
  7. The Humane Education Network and Animal Welfare Institute may notify a winner's school and/or local newspaper of the student's accomplishment.
